I visited my mother this week, and I met all of my relatives today – Girma’s Hawassa Reception. The pair decided to hold an event at 17/19 park in Atlas, Bole Sub-city, after noticing adults eager to join in the activities their children were interested in at schools and summer camps.
Over 3000 people attended the event, which included activities such as feeding farm animals, ceramics, painting, cooking, baking injera, weaving cotton, and others. After staging an event at Unity Park, they decided to reach out to the Prime Minister, who enthusiastically accepted. The event drew around 10,000 people, according to the organizers.
In the beginning of 2020, the duo opened their Center in Haya Hulet, 200 meters from Golagol Tower. However, in order to prevent the virus’s spread, the global pandemic forced the partial shutdown of various institutions and businesses around the time they opened.
