Bella Montoya was rushed to Martn Icaza Hospital in the Los Rios province on Friday after becoming ill at home.
Her son Gilbert Balberán told El Universo that she was admitted at 9 am and passed away after a stroke at 12pm.
By 8:50 p.m., Montoya’s family observed that she was showing signs of life after spending four hours in the casket. At that point, she had just about finished changing at the funeral home where her viewing would take place.
Balberán told the newspaper, “My mother started to move the left hand, open her eyes, and open her mouth.” “She was trying to breathe,” the speaker said.
