Tirunesh Dibaba, a 34-year-old distance runner from Ethiopia, uploaded a photo of herself cradling her new baby, Allon. Allon is Dibaba and Sileshi Sihine’s second kid and the sibling of their first child, a boy born in 2016.
In April 2019, right before the London Marathon, Dibaba made an announcement about her pregnancy. Her fast 2:17:56 from the 2017 London Marathon is her personal best time.
At the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Dibaba became the first woman to ever win gold medals in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter races, three years after accomplishing the same feat at the World Championships. She won the 10,000m race at the 2007 and 2013 World Championships and successfully defended her title at the 2012 London Olympics.
